NOWmatrix
A central element of the annual development review is the NOWmatrix. It combines happiness and performance, showing clearly where employees stand on both scales.
Goals
Aligning self-perception and external feedback while identifying areas for growth and development.
How it works
In the annual development review, employees receive feedback not only from their manager but also from peers. A formal evaluation sheet is provided, which all relevant people – including the employee – complete. Part of this review includes plotting results on the NOWmatrix.
The matrix shows two scales:
- Happiness – To what extent does the employee embody the company culture and contribute positively? Is the person a reliable and integral part of the team?
- Performance – How strong is the employee’s performance based on their role profile?
Both employee and manager plot their assessments on the matrix. Results from all contributors are compared and discussed in the meeting.
